When I found this wrapped package in my room few weeks ago I was so excited. I thought that I won something or a secret admirer sent me a gift. But after I read the sender name, I realized that I was wrong. The package was a book ! I ordered that book from online bookstore http://kutukutubuku.com. The title is “Istri-istri Orang Seberang” by Fanny J. Poyk or we can say it as “The Foreign People’s Wives”. I read the review of this book in Chic magazine and it seemed interesting book.
The book tells real stories of 6 different women and those women have one thing in common, they married to foreign men. From 6 stories, only one story has a happy ending. The others are pain, miserable, horror and terrifying. I think its common that in any marriage the problems could occur, but what make it more difficult and complex because it involves 2 nations, complicated regulations, different laws and citizenship problem especially for the baby. Anyway, at least this book can be alternate reference for women, like me ..hehehe......
